Dredging

Dredging was very harmful to the environment during the gold rush but it was useful in the search for gold. Dredging is when you find a creek bed and flow the water into another channel then using a machine called a dredge you scrape the earth from the creek beds. What the dredges did was chewed the dirt and left the waste behind. This was a negative impact because it turned creek beds into stoney rubble. Dredging impacted the environment in many ways and  the only good thing that came from it was gold.
